Gary L. Young, 60, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born March 9, 1953, in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary Ellen (Harr) Young. Gary was in the first paramedic class in Beaver County. He had worked as a paramedic, then as a dispatcher for the New Brighton Police Department and then Beaver County 911 Center. He was an amateur radio operator who went by the call sign N3ALL and was a member of the B.V.A.R.A. Gary also loved playing the piano and singing. He was also involved with the Pine Valley Youth Camp, the Evangelical Free Church, Chippewa Twp., and Immanuel Baptist Church, New Brighton.

Surviving are one son, G. Edward Young, Aliquippa; one daughter, Cynthia Knight, Moon Twp.; granddaughter, Sarah Knight; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Genell Young, Monaca; close friend, Brian Lambert and his wife Joan, New Brighton, and several nieces, nephews and their families.

There will no viewing.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday from 3 p.m. until time of memorial service at 4 p.m. in the Immanuel Baptist Church, Wise's Grove Rd., New Brighton, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Lemmon officiating.
