George A. 'Amos' Yeager Jr.

George A. Yeager Jr., 85, of Daugherty Twp., passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Born March 14, 1930, in Pulaski Twp., he was the son of the late George A. and Martha (Vogler) Yeager. George graduated in 1948 from New Brighton High School. George served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired after 39 years from B&W where he was a foreman in the Eastworks division. George received his pilot's license in 1955 and one of his favorite hobbies was flying his radio controlled plane. George and his family operated Yeager's Greenhouse until they closed in June 2010.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey A. Yeager, and a brother, James Yeager.
Surviving are his loving wife, Thelma (Freeman) Yeager; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald (Julie) Yeager, Ellport; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Darrin Furman, Springboro, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha Mae (James) Rombold, North Sewickley Twp.; a granddaughter, Shannon Furman, and nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Friday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet Saturday at 10:20 a.m. in the funeral home to provide full military honors for George.
