George William Roberts
Formerly of Patterson Township
George W. Roberts, 88, formerly of Patterson Twp., passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Covington Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Palestine, OH.
Born March 2, 1927, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late George and Helen (Groves) Roberts. George was retired from the Accounting Division of Crucible Steel. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish, New Brighton. He was a member of the Patterson Twp. Fire Department, past treasurer for Beaver County Fireman’s Relief Fund, and a member of the Beaver Falls Turners. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Roberts.
Surviving are his daughter, Mary Pat Burkett and her companion, Dusty Rhodes, Ohioville; three grandchildren, Ashley and Mallory Burkett, and Dylan Styen; four great-grandchildren, Ivy Miner, Benjamin Burkett, Brooke Elyse and Allison Mae, and a son-in-law, Thomas Burkett.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 3, 2015, from noon until time of Blessing Service at 2 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at the cemetery at 2:30 p.m. to provide full military honors for George.
