George A. Robison
On Monday, March 28, 2016, we said goodbye to our loving father. George A. Robison, 89, of Darlington passed away in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born January 22, 1927, in Filbert Two, Pa., he is the son of the late Jona and Nellie (Speelman) Robison. George was a retired crane operator at B&W where he worked for 37 years. He served in Okinawa, Japan during World War II in the U.S. Army where he was a motor transportation NCO in the 53rd Airdrome Squadron.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Faye (Coughenour) Robison; a son, George, and three brothers, Bill, John, and Thomas.
Surviving are his four children and their spouses, Barbara (Mike) Carroll, Hartselle, AL; Jeffery (Cathy) Robison, E. Palestine, OH; Brad Robison, Darlington, and Brent (Tricia) Robison, West Mayfield; nine grandchildren, James, Ashlely, Taira, Brendan, Kasey, George, Cameron, Zachary and Laura; two great-grandchildren, Anna-Grace and Penelope; five brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald (Pat) Robison, Philadelphia; Bud Robison, Sunrise, FL; Bobby Robison, Monaca, PA, and Larry Robison, Toccoa, GA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty (Avril) Nicholson, Toccoa, GA, and Janet (George) Williams, Toccoa, GA., Beverly "Sis" (Russell) Foster, Patterson Twp., and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Friends will be received Friday, April 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. A service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastors Robert Martin and Robert Lee, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 862 Honor Guard, will provide full military honors at the cemetery.
