Georgia Sue Couch, 87, of formerly of North Hills, PA, went home to be with the lord on January 10, 2026, at the Rochester Manor and Villa. Born on September 02, 1938, in Rochester, New York, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Anne (Miller) Rahtjen.

Georgia was a devoted educator and pillar of her community whose life’s work centered on faith, learning, and service. She dedicated many years to St. Paul’s Preschool where her passion and leadership helped establish three preschool centers, which all became accredited. Deeply loved by generations of students, families, and colleagues, Georgia was known for her warmth, patience, and unwavering commitment. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and enjoyed watching deer and birds with them.

Her faith guided every part of her life; she was actively involved in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in North Hills. The daughter of a minister, who had the honor of marrying her and her husband, Georgia carried a lifelong legacy of faith, compassion, and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Karen (Eric Bracken) Guckert; grandchildren, Amanda (Trent Buchanan) Guckert, Shannon (Eric) Franklin, Marissa (Alex) Riley; and great-grandchildren, Gianna and Kylee Roak, Amirha Perry, Ezekiel Buchanan, and Felicity and Ezra Franklin, she also had grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her son-in-law, Eric.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip G. Couch, her daughter, Kathy Couch Carol and her brother, Bruce Rahtjen.
