Gerald W. Amistade, 81, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015, at Friendship Ridge.

Born October 3, 1933, in Little Washington, he was a son of the late Baptist and Virginia (Bizzolli) Amistade. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. Gerald retired from the Arco Polymer Co., where he was a pipe fitter. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and going to the Y.M.C.A.

Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Shirley (Philipp) Amistade; his niece, Sharon Mosier; his nephews, David (Lisa) Amistade and Gerald Amistade; sisters-in-law, Brenda Philipp, Lois Philipp, Lillian (Wayne) Mittner and Cora (Bill) Hilburg; brothers-in-law, Ernie (Donna) Philipp, Luther (Leatha) Philipp, Roger Philipp and Richard Philipp; special nephew, Tim Nawrocki, and his daughter, Elizabeth Nawrocki, and many more nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Irwin and Rose Amistade; brother-in-law, David Philipp; sisters-in-law, Frieda Philipp and Bertha Coxson, and niece, Denise Nawrocki.

Friends will be received Monday, July 6, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m.

Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
