Gerald E. Atchison, 76, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born February 17, 1938 in Wampum, a son of the late John and Marie (Dooley) Atchison, he was a retired furnace operator at the former B&W Tubular Steel plant.
Surviving are his wife of 47 ½ years Anna Mae (Drent) Atchison; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and David Hill, East Palestine, OH; one son, Brian Atchison, Bluffton, SC; two grandsons, Evan and Jared Hill; one brother and his wife, Jack and Ruth Atchison, New Brighton; one sister, Betty Campbell, New Castle; special nephews, Nate and Nick Zak, and many more nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Scrivo.
Friends will be received Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating.
At his request, cremation will take place after the service.
