Gordon C. Taglieri

Gordon C. Taglieri, 77, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

Born March 3, 1946, in Chester, England, he was a son of the late Cosimo and Margaret (Venables) Taglieri.  Upon graduation in 1964 from Freedom High School, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he was an electronic technician on the USS Intrepid.  He retired from Verizon as a cable splicer.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 19, and a former board member of RS Bellco FCU of New Brighton.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church, Holy Family Parish.  He will be remembered for being punctual, his cooking, and serving his community and church.  He was a family man, that was a wonderful father and grandfather.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan (Narkiewicz) Taglieri, his daughters, Denise (Curtis) Cleveland, Julie (Joe) Smiley, grandchildren, Hanna (Zachary) Wesolowski, Brett Smiley, and Mason Cleveland, a great-grandchild on the way, brother, Robert (Tim Moir) Taglieri, sister, Lisa (Robert Hanley) Altobello, sister-in-law, Ann Narkiewicz Ellenich and Jennifer Ellennich, brothers-in-law, Nelson Higby and Joseph (Sally) Narkiewicz, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Higby, father and mother-in-law, Telesfor and Wanda Narkiewicz, and sister-in-law, Jeanne Narkiewicz Stinson.

Friends will be received Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 11:30 a.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12 p.m. in Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton.

Interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
