H. Eileen Jewell
H. Eileen Jewell, age 86, wife of the late Rev. Gale A. Jewell, Sr., with family around her, peacefully left her earthly body to be with her Lord on Thursday December 1, 2011. She graduated from New Brighton High School in 1944. Baptized in 1925 at Methodist Protestant Church in New Brighton, she continued her Methodist heritage through the 2007 merger of First Methodist Episcopal, Grace Methodist Episcopal, and Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church (Methodist Protestant). She exemplified Christian faith in her love and kindness toward all. While her family always came first in her heart and life, her home was open to many in need. She was a member of Jayceettes, the United Methodist Women, 5th Ave. UMC Kitchen Committee, and actively involved in her husband's ministry.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles (Ted) and Eva Mills, and her husband, Rev Jewell, 1972, who served as pastor of Evergreen Methodist Church, Pittsburgh 1962-64, Sigel Four-Point Charge 1964-68, and Sligo Three-Point Charge 1968-1972. She is survived by her five children: Barbara Jewell Baker (John), Erie, Pa.; Deborah Jewell, Erie, Pa; Gayla Jewell (Bob Zylstra); Gale (Gig) Jewell, Jr. (Joy), North Sewickley; and Charles (Chuck) Jewell (Suzanne), New Castle, 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Wanda Dyson, Wierton, WV, nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton,

. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Jewell, of New Creation Church, New Castle PA., officiating. Assisting are Rev. Rita Platt-Anderson, of the New Brighton United Methodist Church, and Pastor Eugene McConnell of Union Good Will Church, North Sewickley Twp.
Interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton, PA 15066.
