Helen M. Cumpston, 77, of Pulaski Twp., formerly of Rochester, passed away, Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Friendship Ridge.
She was born March 9, 1939, in Rochester, a daughter of the late James E. And Rose (Pecone) Sciaretta. Born and raised in the Catholic religion, Helen was baptized as a Christian, and lived and praised the Christian faith at New Brighton Christian Assembly. She was a 61 year lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at V.F.W. Post #128, Rochester. Helen had full life of love and joy. She will greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Eugene McCullough, Cornelius Slater, and John F. Cumpston Jr.; a son, Cornelius F. Slater Jr.; brothers, Charles, Philip, Raymond, and James, and sisters, Genevie Vogel, Diana Roser and Louise Pindilli.
Surviving are two daughters, Eugenia (Tom) Gallagher, Wheeling, IL, and Phyllis (Rick) Olsen, Salt Lake City, UT; a son, James (Linda) McCullough, New Brighton; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Ann Grannis, New Brighton and Mary (Nick) Idzojtic, Conway, and many nieces, nephews and their families. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a funeral service will held
Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Sam DeMarco officiating.
Private interment will follow in St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery, Rochester.
