Helen Mae (Brechun) Wright


Helen Mae (Brechun) Wright, 74, of New Brighton, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Friendship Ridge.

She was born July 9, 1938, in Masontown, a daughter of the later Peter and Margaret (Pavlovich) Brechun. She was employed as a telephone operator in Philadelphia for many years.

Helen is survived by daughters, Joy Vandevort, Beaver; Susan and her husband, Brian Wagner, Southaven, MS, and Sandy and her husband, Brad, Moon Twp.; three grandchildren, Emily Vandevort, Samantha and Jordyn Grimm; two sisters, Ann Brechun, Florida and Florence Pokorny, Aliquippa; one brother, John Brechun, Cleveland, OH; a devoted and loving companion, Paul Draper, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Grimm, and a sister, Mary Davis.

There will be no viewing; however, friends will be received Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. A Private family blessing service will take place following the visitation.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Friendship Ridge, along with Dr. David Thimons for the wonderful care they provided to Helen over the years.
