Irma Santina (Pagani) Smakosz

Irma Santina (Pagani) Smakosz, 90, of Fallston, passed away Saturday August 20, 2022.

Born on November 1, 1931, in Fallston a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Gaz) Pagani. She was the first female member of the Fallston Boro Council, she planted flowers at the Veterans Memorial in Fallston for over 45 years and was the oldest resident of Fallston, where she resided all of her life. Irma was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Holy Family Catholic Church New Brighton and ALA Unit 393.

In addition to mother and father she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years John P. Smakosz Sr. son John P. Smakosz Jr., brother, Livio Pagani and sister, Zita Pagani.

Survived by two daughters, Annamarie (Mike) Pavarnik, Hilliard, OH, Nancy (Frank) Bonetti, Boyers, PA, one son, Ted (Joanne) Smakosz, Fallston, five grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Pivarnik, Rachel (Tom) Loudermilk, Valerie (Buddy) McMullen, Jacob (Heather) Smakosz, Emily (Matt) Grove, seven great grandchildren, Isabella, Alex, Lucas, Emmarie, Cole, Ivy and Scarlett, two brothers, Badge (Alice) Pagani, Beaver, Eugene Pagani, Beaver Falls, a sister-in-law, Barbara Pagani, Fallston, numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
