James C. Conley, 89, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at his home with his family at his side.
Born August 30, 1926 in Maidsville, WV a son of the late Edward Drum-Conley and Mary Rose Conley. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy at the end of the war. He was a retired machinist with B&W Tubular Steel and then worked as a mechanic for Rolling Acres Golf Course. He had also worked at the former Falcon Equipment Co. in New Brighton. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and American Legion Post #19 both in New Brighton.
Surviving are his wife who he married July 1, 1950 Dorothy (Plum) Conley, four sons and daughters-in-law James (Brenda) Conley, Beaver Falls, Steve (Lucy) Conley, Houston, TX, Edward (Denise) Conley and Paul (Lori) Conley, both of New Brighton, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and one sister Virginia Lawrence, Youngstown, OH.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Jane Conley, April 15, 1972, his birth mother Virginia Sharik and a brother Raymond Conley.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am with Rev. Donald W. MacNeil officiating.
Private interment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Mother Teresa Hospice, especially Gloria and Joanne.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Wednesday 11:15am at the funeral home to provide full military honors.
