James Robert McNear, 63, of New Brighton, formerly of Center Twp., has gone home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, January 9, 2014, at the Ellwood City Hospital.

A son of the late Harry Lewis and Marie (Winkle) McNear, he was a retired crane operator for LTV, was currently a school bus driver for Riverside. Jim was a born again spirit filled Christian operating in the fruit of the spirit and would minister to anyone. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, Toni Atkinson McNear; one son, Shawn McNear, Lincoln, NE; one daughter, Pamela and her husband Dan Siebert, Economy; step daughter, Margie and her husband James Ramsey, N.Versailles; grandchildren, Sierra and Caitlyn McNear, Justina, Nicholas and Alexandra Siebert; step grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kirk and Kyler Ramsey; two brothers, Walter and his wife Joan McNear and Richard McNear; sister, Elizabeth Hinkle and a foster brother, Charles and his wife Beverly Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Lee and Thomas McNear, both in 2012.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cliff Reynolds of the Word Alive Church and Pastor Jared Bellan of City Reach Church, Monaca, officiating.

Private interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
