James Peter Vukich, 83, of Clarksvile, TN, formerly of New Brighton, went home to be with The Lord Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, TN.
Born May 12, 1932 in New Brighton a son of the late Peter and Fern (Roser) Vukich. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953. He had worked at the former Towsend Co., was the owner of the former Vukich Tire & Auto and was a retired self-employed semi-truck driver. He was a member of the American Legion Post #19, New Brighton, the Riverside Lions Club and the First Baptist Church, Frost Proof, FL.
Surviving are his wife Joan (Cholewski) Vukich, one daughter Dawn (David) Tallon, two granddaughters Stephanie (Chris) Mathews and Kristen (Steven Mattingly) Tallon, all of Clarksville, one brother Frank J. (Nancy) Vukich, New Brighton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jay Franklin Vukich, a sister Mary Shearer and a nephew David. F. Vukich.
Friends will be received Sunday 1:00 to 5:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton and Monday from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am with the Rev. Michael Coleman officiating.
Cremation will take place after the service, inurnment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
