James C. Scialabba

James C. “JC” Scialabba, 49, of New Castle, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Sunday May 16, 2021 UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.

Born October 1, 1971 in Las Vegas, NV the son of Ruth (Allue) Scialabba and the late James V. Scialabba. He was a service coordinator for D.O.N. Services of New Castle. JC was a Eagle Scout, troop leader for Boy Scouts of Warren, Ohio, and a merit badge counselor for Beaver County. He was a football and basketball referee for Beaver County and Special Olympics basketball referee. JC was a volunteer at St. Monica’s Catholic Academy’s cafeteria and assistant girls varsity basketball coach. He was a true Pittsburgh sports fanatic especially for the Steelers and a was member of Our Lady of the Valley. He was very active in many aspects, until his health issues became too much for him to fight.

Surviving in addition to his mother are six brothers Robert Hess, New Brighton, Naeem Davis, Oregon, Tyree (Robin) Scialabba, Evans City, Vincent Scialabba, Ohio, Anthony Scialabba, New Brighton, Israel Scialabba, New Brighton, six sisters MaryBeth Scialabba, Rochester Twp., Shiana Scialabba, Beaver Falls, Tara (John) Busato, Jeanette, Marquesia Scialabba, New Brighton, Christian Scialabba-Kennedy, Chattanoga, TN, Elizabeth Scialabba, New Brighton, nieces, Kayleigh, Navonna, Laykn, Luna and Blayke, nephews Jeff, Dom and Johnny Boy.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Friday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
