Jean Marie Dempsey

Jean M. Dempsey, 92, of Economy, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026.

Born December 6, 1933, in Frostburg, MD., she is the daughter of the late Clarence and Leatha (McKenzie) Taylor. Jean was a passionate supporter of Easter Seals and worked many years for Kinder Care, where she nurtured and guided countless young lives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Dempsey and a brother, Glenn Taylor.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Lonna Miles, Smyrna, GA., Lesli (Ed) Kuyweski, Moon Twp., Kelly (Bobby “Lee”) Newhouse, Daugherty Twp., grandchildren, Casey (Steve) Biser, Ashley (Charlie) Zawislak, Tyler (Jennifer) Newhouse, and Clay Newhouse; great grandchildren, Cooper and Madelyn, sister, Karen (Ken) Riddle, Ambridge; several nieces, nephews and their families.

Per Jean’s request, all services will be private and she will be laid to rest in Sewickley Cemetery.
