Jesse R. Chaney, 71, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born August 20, 1944, in Elkins, WV, a son of the late Nyal Kenneth and Naomi Arlene (Shreve) Chaney. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army and retired from Nova Chemicals. He loved being at home with his dogs Sarah Jane, Sweat Pea and Little Bit. He was Methodist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan (Crossland) Chaney, 2004; a granddaughter, Jessica McCallister and great-grandson, Donivan Brown.
Surviving are three daughters, Jennifer (Chris) McCullough, Julie (Ross) Veitz and Amy Menges, all of New Brighton; one son, John (Eleanor) McCallister, Springdale; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Ashton, Lauren, Lyndsey, Bradley, Stacie, John, Mandy and Miranda; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Judith) Chaney, Hendersonville, TN, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with his friend, the Rev. John E. Young III officiating.
Interment will take place in Millcreek Cemetery, Elkins, WV.
