John P. Halleman

John P. Halleman, 78, of Calcutta, OH, formerly of Hopewell Twp., passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born August 10, 1937, in Rochester, a son of the late Edward and Irene (Kidd) Halleman. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy during the Cuban blockade serving for 10 years and then served for 25 years with the National Guard. He was retired from Pittsburgh Tube and had been working behind the counter, greeting everyone with a smile, for many years at the Shell gas station on Brodhead Rd. in Monaca.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Janet (Norris) Halleman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lori (Tony) Marchione and Suzanne (Tom) McIlroy, all of Monaca, and Tricia (Brian) McGinness, Crescent; nine grandchildren, Nicole (Evan), Matthew (Sandra), Travis, Alyson, Maverick, Marissa, Logan, Kaitlyn and Madison; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob and his wife Dolly, Edward, Tom and his wife Mary.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Donald W. MacNeil officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the cemetery to provide full military honors.
