John Terlesky, 93, of North Versailles, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Friday January 8, 2016 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.
Born January 16, 1922 in Koppel a son of Metro and Julia Terlesky. John was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy and was retired from Pittsburgh-De Moines Steel where he was an engineer. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of New Brighton, where he sang in the choir for many years. As a youth he was involved with the Civil Conservation Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Pavlinsky) Terlesky, 1980, his son John M. Terlesky, 2006 and infant son William Terlesky.
Surviving are his daughter Andrea Terlesky, North Versailles and two cousins.
Friends will be received Monday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held on Tuesday at 9:30am. There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
Members of the VVA #863 will meet at the cemetery at 10:45am to provide military honors.
