Joseph P. Bross, Sr.

Joseph P. Bross Sr. New Brighton Joseph P. Bross, Sr., 86, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 18, 1933, in Vestaburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Phillip A. and Anna (Chesney) Bross Sr.  Joseph worked for B&W Steel for 34 years and then worked for Pittsburgh Tube for 10 years where he had retired.  He was a member of American Legion, Post #19, United Croatian Club, New Brighton.  He served during the Korean War in the United States Army.  Joseph was a member of New Brighton United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Bross and Howard Liberty III; a brother, Phillip Bross Jr.; and a sister, Betty "Toots" McClain. Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Betty (McKelvey) Bross; one son, Joseph Bross, Jr., New Brighton;  two daughters, Linda (Frank) Spagina, New Brighton, and Darlene Houk, New Castle; 17 grandchildren, Ryan, Shay, Alyson, Leah, Joey III, Camille, Gemma, Jamie, Jeff, Kylee, Tommy, Heather, Frank, Angela, Matthew, Maranda, and Howard IV; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and his true companion, his dog, Rusty. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 17, 2019, from 4  to 8 p.m. in J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Pastor Gary Hilton officiating. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Beaver County Special Unit will provide full military honors in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m.
