Joseph John Namett, Jr.

Joseph John Namett Jr., 87, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden.

Born February 14, 1935, in Conway, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Florence (Kocienda) Namett. He was a graduate of Monaca High School class of 1953 and was a veteran of the US Army, having been stationed in Germany.  Joe worked for P&LE Railroad and the former Colonial Steel retiring after 38 years of service. Joe was a New Brighton volunteer fireman for 26 years. Nothing was more important to Joe than his family.  He was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Nadine (Mahan) Namett, son Scott (Barb) Namett, daughter, Linda Namett, son, Edward Namett. Also survived by his granddaughter, Jamie (Ben) Phifer, great-grandson, Liam Phifer, sister, Lillian (Jack) Hazenstab, along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Namett.

Friends will be welcomed, Thursday from 4:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm, in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, with Pastor Gary Hilton officiating.

Private entombment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Joe’s name to the Beaver County Humane Society, or St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
