Julia D. Casino

Julia (Pawlik) Casino, 80, of North Sewickley Township, passed away on August 27, 2026, with her loving husband of 58 years, Samuel Casino, by her side and surrounded by her family.

Born on August 31, 1945, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Julia was the daughter of the late John J. and Stephanie Pawlik.

Julia and Samuel shared a close and loving marriage and treasured the many years they spent together.

Julia worked as the manager of JDMH Federal Credit Union in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, where she served its members for many years before retiring in 2020.

An avid reader throughout her life, Julia could often be found with a book in her hands. Reading was one of her greatest pleasures, but the most important part of her life was her family.

In addition to her husband, Samuel, Julia is survived by her children, Michele Filak and her husband, John, and Jeffrey Casino and his wife, Sharon, of North Sewickley Township; her grandchildren, Samantha Filak and her daughter, Gianna, Julia's great-granddaughter, and Christopher Passaro.

She is also survived by her siblings, Joyce Parker and her husband, Keith, of Jeannette; Susie Catalona and her husband, Danny, of Hempfield Township; and John Pawlik of Jeannette.

In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Stephanie Casino.

Julia will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Julia's family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the paramedics who responded to their call and to the physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals in the CCU at AHN Beaver Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Julia and the support they extended to her family. The family also extends its heartfelt thanks to Father Paul Kuppe of Our Lady of the Valley Parish for his spiritual care and for administering Julia's Last Rites.

Services will be private. Julia will be laid to rest with her daughter, Stephanie, at Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin, Pennsylvania. Arrangements were entrusted to J&J Spratt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascension Church in Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
