Julia A. Spratt, 88, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL.

Born and raised in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Julia (Mack) Spratt, she was a graduate of Mt Gallitzin Academy, Class of 1944. Julia then graduated from Seton Hill College with a degree in Sociology. After a few local jobs, she decided to take a position at the Charity Hospital School of Nursing, New Orleans. She taught first year students pediatric and emergency room nursing and retired as Business Administrator of the School of Nursing. Julia loved hosting and entertaining any chance she could. Her many friends and relatives always enjoyed her parties. After Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Clearwater where she enjoyed her last years. She was a member of St. Brenden Catholic Church, Clearwater.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: three brothers, Joseph J. Jr., John M. "Jack" and James P. Spratt, and her sister, Mary Dean Murphy.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Nora Lee Spratt, New Brighton, many nieces, nephews, their families and many devoted lifelong friends.

There will be no viewing, but friends will be received Monday from 9 a.m. until time of funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the Holy
Family Catholic Church, 727 6th Avenue, New Brighton. The Most Revered Robert N. Lynch will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
