Kathryn Ann "Kathy" (Gerlach) Nippert

Kathryn Ann "Kathy" (Gerlach) Nippert, 75, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018, at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born November 27, 1942, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Paul and Kathryn (Roberts) Gerlach-Collazzi. She was a past president of the Jr. Women's Club of New Brighton. Kathy loved to crochet afghans, doilies and scarfs by the hundreds for the homeless. She enjoyed spending time with animals.

Surviving are her husband, George Nippert; two sons, George (Brenda) Nippert, Newville, Pa., and Gregory Nippert, Gunnery Sgt. (Ret.), Richlands, N.C.; one daughter, Kristen (Richard) Shoaff, New Brighton; nine grandchildren, George (Kamon), James, Joseph, Bernadette (Bailey), John and Anna Nippert, Kylee Rae and Jacob Shoaff and Lillian Nippert; many lifelong friends; and her cat, "Mike."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James Collazzi.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a blessing service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.

Cremation will take place after the funeral.

In lieu of the flowers, the family wish memorials be made in her name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA  15001.
