Lawrence A. Bauer
Lawrence A. Bauer, 64, of North Sewickley Twp., formerly of Reserve Twp., passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Care Center, Mars.
Born June 21, 1949 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Albert and Louise (Gerstner) Bauer. He was a retired plumber and had worked for Westinghouse, Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 47 and lastly with St. John's Lutheran Care Center. His passion in life was being a volunteer fireman. He served as chief for many years with Mt. Troy Fire Department, and also served with Economy Fire Department and North Sewickley Fire Department. He was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Zelienople.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carol (Scholtz) Bauer; one daughter, Marcie Bauer Molnar, North Sewickley Twp.; seven siblings, Gloria (David) Hunt, Westview; Albert "Butch" (late wife Susan) Bauer, Export; Ken (Sandi) Bauer, Bakerstown; Jerry Bauer, Butler; Mary Lou Bauer, Reserve Twp.; Joyce (late husband Edwin) Erb, Reserve Twp.; Joe (Vivien) Bauer, Butler, and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m., when prayers will be held at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Rt. 68, Zelienople, with the Rev. Father Lawrence Smith, officiating.
Private interment will take place in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery, Zelienople.
