M. Niel Castelucci, 81, of New Brighton, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Family Hospice/Canterberry Place, Pittsburgh.
Born March 25, 1932, in Coulter, PA, a son of the late Thomas and Pearl (Harter) Castelucci. He was a truck driver for most of his life and then retired from Duquesne Light. He was a member of the F&AM Rochester Lodge, No.229 and the New Castle Consistory. He had also provided transportation to the Amish community for several years. He was an avid traveler and liked baking cakes and making candy for his friends. He wrote and recited poetry, which he enjoyed sharing with friends. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of New Brighton.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Norma (Boren) Castelucci; two sons and daughters-in-law, Niel W. and Ruth Castelucci, New Castle, David and Becky Castelucci, North Sewickley Twp.; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Regis Stief, North Sewickley Twp.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Blaine and his wife, Louella Castelucci, Elkhart, IN, numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy; four brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Wednesday, friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Free Methodist Church, 925 11th St. New Brighton, with Pastor Joshua Mackenstein, officiating.
Private interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
