Maria E. Klemens Altmeyer
Maria E. Klemens Altmeyer, 91, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Friendship Ridge.
Born May 23, 1919, in Florence, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Antonia Rossetti. Maria was a charter member of the New Brighton S.O.I., where she was the head of the kitchen and catering, a member of the New Brighton Historical Society, New Brighton American Legion Post #19 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Brighton.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles J. Klemens; her second husband, Harry Altmeyer, and one son, Rudy Klemens.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lita and Richard LaNeve, Brighton Township; one daughter-in-law, Nellie Klemens, Steubenville, OH; four grandchildren and their spouses, Alessa (Matthew) Yanssens, Nathan (Jammey) LaNeve, Rachel (Jeff) Wall, and Joshua Klemens, and four great-grandchildren, Jack and Jazlyn Yanssens, and Tyler and Riley LaNeve.
Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, where prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. Church, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maria's name to the New Horizon School, Autism Division.
