Mark Edward Helbling II, 47, of New Brighton, passed into eternal life, unexpectedly from natural causes, on May 12, 2023. Born September 23, 1975, in Tucson, Arizona, he was the beloved son of Mark and Karen (Chaney) Helbling.
He was a graduate of Blackhawk High School and attended Wooster College, in Wooster, Ohio. Mark was employed as assistant manager for Dollar General. He was a former garden center manager at Reilly’s Summerseat Farm, in Ohio Township, Pennsylvania. Mark enjoyed hiking, camping, spending time in the woods, gardening, and helping on the family farm.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Nancy (Butler) Chaney; paternal grandparents, John and Dolores (Umbel) Helbling; uncles, John J. Helbling II, Gerald (Jerry) Chaney; an aunt, Rozanne (Ann) Cowardin.
Besides his parents, Mark is survived by uncles Michael (Janell) Helbling and Paul Helbling, both of Panama City, Florida; Michael Dean Helbling, Panama City, Florida, and several special cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10am at the Our Lady of the Valley, St. Cecilia Parish, Rochester.
