Mary Lee Duafala
Chippewa Township
Our mother, Mary Lee Duafala, of Chippewa Township, died on April 26, 2015, after a brief and unexpected illness.
Born on January 9, 1947, to the late Margaret Yoko, she was the youngest of four children. She was a graduate of Aliquippa High School in 1964 and had worked in the Chippewa Giant Eagle for over twenty years. The majority of her time was spent raising her family and loving her grandchildren. Her children were her life. Her grandchildren were her inspiration. They were all in her thoughts during her final moments on earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Michael Duafala, and a sister, Dorothy Jean Rhodes.
She leaves behind four daughters: Dawn (Duafala) Porto of South Beaver Twp., Amy Duafala-Young of Unity Twp., Ohio, Carrie Duafala of Devil's Lake, North Dakota, and Michelle (Duafala) Reiff of Warwick, Rhode Island.
She will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Audrey and Macy Porto and Ethan Reiff; three sons-in-law: Rob Porto, Neal Young and Steven Reiff; a sister, Patricia McCracken of New Brighton; a brother, Joe Yoko, of Parker, Colorado, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Our mother's death came at an unexpected time in all of our lives. Her passing stresses the importance of telling those you love how you feel. She was motivated by love and the will to be with her family until the very end. She would want others to do the same.
Friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of blessing service at 1 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 201, Monaca, PA 15061.
