Mary (Pflugh) Eakin
Mary (Pflugh) Eakin, 86, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at Friendship Ridge.
Born September 19, 1925 in Brighton Twp., a daughter of late Arthur Pflugh and Mary (Hineman) Pflugh Hinkle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson Eakin, January 11, 1977; one son, William John Eakin, January 31, 2000; five brothers, Arthur, Woody "Lee", Charles, George Pflugh and Sonny Hinkle; two sisters, Wilma Steeb and Phyllis Mooney.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law; Greg and Deborah Eakin, DeBary, FL, Patrick Eakin and Jen Morrison, with whom she resided, Woodra Eakin, New Brighton; eight grandchildren, Gregory Eakin, Michalene Eakin, both of DeBary, FL, Brittany Eakin, Slippery Rock, Jacob Eakin, Lacey Eakin, Benjamin Eakin, Sabrina Eakin and Kaelyn Morrison, all of New Brighton; one great-granddaughter, Savanah Eakin, DeBary, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Louella and Ward Chaffee, Brighton Twp; a special niece, Sharon DeLauder and also many more nieces, nephews and their families.
There will be no viewing. However, friends will be received Friday from noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com , with the Rev. Mark Ours, of the First Baptist Church, New Brighton, officiating.
