Mary A. Emery, 88, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Villa St. Joseph, Baden.

Born December 19, 1923 in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Leboda) Ellis. Mary was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Family Christian Mothers and the American Legion, Post #19, Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Emery Sr., on August 18, 1994; three brothers, Andrew, Anthony and John, and one sister, Agnes Alaksin.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Livio Pagani, Fallston; Susan and Thomas Holaren, and Cindy and Walter Pointek, all of New Brighton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Andrew J. Jr. and Sandy Emery, Beaver, and Michael  L. Emery, New Brighton; seven grandchildren, Renee (James) Moeller, Diane (Brian) Haffey, Julie (Robert) McKinnon, Andrew Holeran, Michael (Jordan) Holaren, Sara Emery and Andrew Emery III; ten great-grandchildren, Allen, Matthew, Katelyn, Abigail, Conner, Carlin, Rory, Andie, Emma and Patrick; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Ellis, New Brighton, and Mary Zurek, Arizona, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. Church, New Brighton, with the Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her name to St. Joseph
Cemetery Care Fund, c/o 1851 Third Avenue, New Brighton, PA 15066.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Villa St. Joseph, especially on Font Bonne for all their care and compassion given to their mother.
