Mary C. (Totera) Edwards

Mary C. (Totera) Edwards, 92, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2013, at Friendship Ridge.

Born October 1, 1921, in New Brighton a daughter of the late Nicola V. and Caroline "Carrie" (Nudi) Totera, she had worked for the former Mayer China and the Farmers & Produce. In her later years she had worked for Sheldon's Flowers in Rochester. Mary was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Joseph Gold and the S.O.I. #1883, all of New Brighton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Edwards, on November 22, 1998; an infant sister, Dorothy Totera, and sister, Loretta Melvin.

Surviving are a special niece and her husband, Christine and Michael Yarosz and their daughter Caitlin; a nephew, Lindsay and his wife Linda Melvin and their children, Cathy (David), Meda and Mark; several stepchildren and their families; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Cecilia Totera, New Brighton, and their children, Mary (Tom) Procovich, Anna Marie Braunger, Rose Marie (Joel) Watson, James Joseph Totera and their families, and many more relatives and friends.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
