Melissa Marie Natale Tates, 34, of Chippewa Twp., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born June 12, 1979, in Brighton Twp., she was a daughter of Rodney Bays of Salem, OH and the late Tanya (Luther) Waddle. Melissa went to Mount Gallitzin Elementary Academy, graduated from Beaver High School and attended Robert Morris University. She was a loving wife and mother, and was a member of Faith to Faith Ministries of Rochester.
Surviving are her husband, Oscar J. Tates; five children: daughter Alexandria Natale, son Zachary Natale, both of Beaver, daughter Casandria Christy, Chippewa, son Jai Antonio Tates, and daughter Emily Ava Grace Tates, both at home; two brothers Ryan Emrick, Beaver, and Lisle Waddle Jr., Chippewa; her maternal grandmother, Gale Littell, Beaver, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mariah Emily Ann Tates, on March 6, 2009.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with her pastor, Bill Blume, officiating.
Private interment will take place in John Anderson Memorial Cemetery, Raccoon Twp.
