Michael E. Stead

Michael E. Stead, 83, of Rochester, PA, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.

Born on October 14, 1942, in Beryl, West Virginia, he was the son to the late Charles and Eva (Harvey) Stead. He was a peacetime veteran serving from September 1962 to 1963 in the United States Marine Corps and spent many dedicated years as a heavy equipment operator. His faith and community were central to his life. He was a devoted, life member of Champion Life Church in Darlington, where he found great fellowship, peace, and purpose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, his son, Michael, daughter, Denise, brother, Charles, and a sister, Janet.

Michael leaves behind his daughter, Stacey (Jason) Endy, three grandchildren, Autumn Porto, Devin Frey, Felicia Romesburg; great-grandchildren, Raven, Brooklynn, Ava, Addison, Blayze, Ryot, Luna, Preston, and RJ, and one great-great grandson, Wayne, Jr.; sisters, Arlene (Tom) Scalercio, Jeanie Fillip, Katherine McCombie, Diane Toreance, and a brother, George (Theresa) Stead, along with lots of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. at J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, PA, 15066. His Pastor, Larry Bettencourt, officiating.

Michael will be buried in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11 a.m. at which time Military honors will be provided by the Beaver County Special Unit.
