Naomi (Smith) Bauman, 90, of Brighton Twp., formerly of Marion Hill, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Brighton Twp.

Born December 29, 1922, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Oscar and Katie (Wilson) Smith, she retired from the former Medical Center of Beaver where she was a licensed practical nurse and was a member of the Marion Hill Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. From 1946 to 1963, she was a foster parent for B.C.C.Y.S. sharing her love with many children. A lifetime resident of Marion Hill, she served as township secretary and was the Marion Hill School crossing guard for many years.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and George Tanner, Brighton Twp.; her supportive former husband, Jack Bauman, New Brighton; four grandchildren, Kevin Foreman, Teri (Marty) Lewis, Cynthia Tanner, Linda (Jason) Natali, former granddaughter-in-law, Carrie Foremen; eight great-grandchildren, Mallory, Paige, Rebekah, Arden, Sydney, Isaac, Nolan and Aidan; several nieces, nephews and their families and many neighborhood children who still call her "Mom".

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Wilson and Relman Wilson; two sisters, Helen Gorrell and Gladys Rader.

Friends will be received Monday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. On Tuesday, Naomi will lie in state at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Rochester Rd., New Brighton, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Krouse officiating.

Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
