Norma Jean Bolland, 77, longtime resident of New Brighton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Norma was born on August 8, 1940, at East Liverpool City Hospital, the daughter of the late Sam and Irene Hawthorne of Industry, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Mary Jane Hays (Aunt Beck); sister, Debbie Hawthorne; and her loving husband of 51 years, Ronald Bolland.

Norma will be greatly missed by her children, Cathleen Bolland (Scott Shearer) of Ohioville and Jeffrey Bolland (Lisa) of New Brighton; her grandchildren, Ryan Bolland (Cassie), Haley and Kyle Bolland; great-grandchild, Carson Bolland; sister, Connie Price (Sam); brother-in-law, Roger Bolland (Deborah); several cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Norma was a familiar face to thousands of students of the New Brighton School District as a ticket seller at New Brighton football games and for 41 years as a baker, head cook, and cashier at the school cafeterias. Norma never let a child go hungry or miss a football game as long as she had the price of a meal or a game in her pocket.

She was a pasty Worthy Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Midland Assembly No. 83, and past Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, New Brighton Assembly No. 58. Norma was a member of the Wenonah Chapter No. 124, Order of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron.
