Olav N. Johnson, 63, of Bridgewater formerly of Gibbon, MN, passed away on Tuesday September 13, 2016 in Bridgewater.
Born April 2, 1953 in Gaylord, MN, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Victoria Johnson. He was a graduate of Gibbon High School, Waldorf Junior College and Gutavus Aldophus College. He was Presbyterian by faith and a member of the Bridgewater Presbyterian Church. He was a long-time volunteer for the Salvation Army, Rochester, a long distance truck driver, and was currently employed at Beaver Super. He will be remembered by those he knew as an extremely giving man who enjoyed sharing stories and laughs.
Olav is survived by his brother John (Dorothy) Johnson, MN, two step-sons Michael (Melissa) Davis, Butler, James (Laura) Bailey, Willoughby, OH, nieces Nancy (Brian) Dahl, Barb Johnson Larson, and nephew Mark L. (Jennifer), 8 step-grandchildren, 6 great nieces and 3 great nephews; and special friends Michael Davis, and James Bailey.
Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his good friend Carl “Jay” Wolfe.
There will be no viewing. Friends will be received Saturday September 17, 2016 from 3 pm until the time of the memorial service at 4 pm at the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave. New Brighton, PA 15066, with the Dr. William H. Silvers officiating.
Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Minnesota.
