Pastor H. Glenn Overdorff

October 31, 1932 — December 15, 2021

Pastor H. Glenn Overdorff of New Brighton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

At a young age Glenn accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was called by God to become a pastor.  After graduating from Marion Center High School, he attended Practical Bible Training School in Johnson City, NY. Glenn went on to receive his Th.B. at Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana. He accepted the call to become the pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, New Brighton, PA where he faithfully served for 37 years.

Glenn served in the Army for 2 years.  During this time, he found ways to also serve God by organizing church services and playing the organ for military personnel and their dependents in both Germany and Italy. He was a gifted musician and blessed many people with his playing and singing ability.

Glenn met and married Lois Huff of Hagerstown, MD in 1966.  They spent 52 years together serving God at their local church.  Because of Glenn’s passion for the mission field, he and Lois also made numerous trips to Ivory Coast, Africa, and Peru, South America.  They ministered to the missionaries there and made many friends among the nationals. Glenn was instrumental in seeing local churches built in these countries. There came a time when Lois became ill and caring for her became Glenn’s full-time job. After an extended illness Lois went home to glory in 2018.

Pastor Overdorff was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel, and three brothers, Raymond Eugene, Wilbur Carl, and William Lawrence. He is survived by his brother- and sister-in-law, John and Sue Huff, of Hagerstown, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave. New Brighton, PA 15066.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leitersburg, MD.

Post #42 will provide military honors Monday, December 20, 2021, at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Leitersburg, MD.
