Ralph A. Dauer, 85, of Zelienople, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Passavant Homes, Zelienople.

Born October 2, 1927, in Crafton, a son of the late William R. and Minnie (Kohl) Dauer, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving as a sergeant with the U.S. Army. A 1945 graduate of New Brighton High School, Ralph worked 38 years for Duquesne Light and retired as a supervisor. He was a lifetime member of Daugherty Twp. Fire Department, a member of the American Legion, Post #19, and a 68 year member of Union Lodge #259 F&AM, both of New Brighton. He had been a longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton, then Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chippewa Twp., and then Seaman Chapel at Passavant.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Patience "Patty" (Moore) Dauer; one son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Linda Dauer, Plymouth, NH; three grandchildren, Wesley (Alyssa) Dauer, Spencer Dauer and Rachel Dauer; one sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Roland Edwards, Leesburg, FL; two nephews, Mark (Tracey) Edwards and David (Bobbie) Edwards; one brother-in-law, Alfred "Rivets" and his wife Cathy Moore; three sisters-in-law, Doris Cribbs, Melva Kulik and Judy Hargrove, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. On Thursday viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 10th Avenue, New Brighton, with Rev. William B. Henry Jr. and Pastor Wil Goetze officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum Thursday at 11:45 a.m. to conduct full military honors for Ralph.
