Ralph K. Spickerman, 90 of New Brighton, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 31, 2022, after a long-fought battle with the effects of Parkinson’s disease.
Born January 10, 1932, in New Brighton, a son of the late Paul C. and Jennes (Caley) Spickerman. Ralph was a graduate of New Brighton High School class of 1949. He was a machinist at Babcock & Wilcox and retired after 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his wife Betty (Linn) Spickerman on February 11, 2019, brothers Paul and Merle Spickerman, sister Doris Book, grandson Joshua Kovach and son-in-law, Russ Couch.
Surviving are four daughters, Nancy (Dennis) Soberl, Durham, N.C., Sharon (Kevin) Kovach, New Brighton, Cynthia (Larry) Lazer, Johnstown, Pa., and Betty Jo Couch, Palm Bay, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Matthew (Deana), Ryan (Meghann), Lindsay (Sean), Jennifer (Dave), Jarrod (Amanda), Melanie (Greg), Leighann (Matt), Kristin (Douglas), Stephen, Michelle (Mike); and twenty-three great grandchildren.
Per his wishes, there was no viewing, and he was laid to rest beside his wife of 66 years in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
A memorial service will be held Saturday April 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Westminster United Presbyterian Church, New Brighton.
