.
Born January 7, 1935 in Beaver Falls a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Mae (Malone) Colwell. Ray was a veteran of the Korean War proudly serving with the U.S.M.C. and was a retired computer programmer for I.B.M. He was a member of Christ Church of New Brighton. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and taking care of all their handicapping details and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years Jean (Thompson) Colwell, two sons Dennis (Bonnie) Colwell, E. Palestine, OH, Jay Colwell, Minneapolis, MN, three daughters Auda (Douglas) Freemon, Ft. Worth, TX, Paula (Kenneth) Peduzzi, Brighton Twp., Brandy (Dustin) Donovan, Greensboro, NC, four grandchildren Renee Peduzzi, Jessica (Mark) Mlynarski, Kevin Freemon and Kelly Freemon, one great grandson Noah Davis, one brother Gary (Pamela) Colwell, N. Huntington, many nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by a son Raymond Scott Colwell, 2011, one sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Darwin “Mitch” Mitchell.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:20am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in Christ Church, 1217 Third Avenue, New Brighton, with the Rev. Dr. Langdon Pegram officiating.

Cremation will take place after the service.

Members of the Beaver County Special unit will Saturday at the church to provide military honors.
