Richard E. "Rich" Young, 43, of Douglasville, GA, formerly of Daugherty Twp., passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at Wells Star Douglas Hospital in Georgia.
Born February 6, 1969 in New Brighton, he was a son of Richard A. and Margaret (Gray) Young of Daugherty Twp. Rich was a self-employed carpenter, an avid Steelers and Penguins fan, and loved fishing and Harley Davidsons.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Faith Young, Orlando, FL; daughter, Jessica Young, Fallston; stepdaughter, Brittany Chandler, Orlando; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dave Polachek, Economy; three brothers, Earl McCaskey, Rochester; Daniel McCaskey, Daugherty Twp., and Mark McCaskey, Douglasville, GA; nephews and nieces, J.R. and Misty Smith, Matthew McCaskey, and David and Abby Polachek, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda (McCaskey) Smith and Cathie McCaskey in 2004; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Young; maternal grandmother, Alberta Smith, and nephew, Joshua McCaskey, all in 2011.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Win Groseclose, of Burry's Church, Rochester, officiating.
Interment will follow in Burry' Church Cemetery.
