Robert L. Clear Sr., 63, of New Brighton, passed away Monday December 8, 2014, at Heritage Valley, Beaver following his battle with A.L.S. surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born July 24, 1951 in Rochester, he was a son of the late William R. Sr. and Margaret (Ward) Clear. He was retired from the maintenance department for Reliant Energy. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. and the Rochester Sportsman Club. He loved his family, especially his grandbabies.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Theresa (Kuhl) Clear; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and John Book, Patterson Heights, and Jill and Jordan Snyder, Rochester; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. Jr and Amanda Clear, New Brighton; three grandchildren, Trey, Charleigh and Greyson Book; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Clear, Rochester; Judith Main, and Diane and Bob Heaton, all of New Brighton; one brother-in-law, Theodore and Barbara Kuhl, Arlington, VA, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William R. Clear Jr. in June 2014 and his nephew, Chad Clear in April 2009.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
