Robert F. “Dixie” Howe, 79, of New Brighton, passed away Thursday January 5, 2017 at Brighton Wellness & Rehabilitation Center, Brighton Twp.
Born February 24, 1937 in Rochester a son of the late George J. and Dorothy (Corliss) Howe. He was able to retire at an early age from the former ZCA, where he was a shift foreman. He was a longtime coach and volunteer for New Brighton Youth Baseball. Dixie enjoyed going to all New Brighton sporting events to watch his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling and golfing in younger days.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Reich) Howe on September 15, 1991, four brothers George “Jeff” Howe, John Howe, Ronald Howe, Ed Howe and one sister Shirley Russell.
Surviving are two sons Rob (Heather) Howe, Randy Howe, three daughters Rhonda Bross, Robin Tuscic and Rikki Howe, 11 grandchildren Louie (Teresa), Angel, Amber, Ryan, Dennis, Lindsey, Brandon, Kayla, Rhaya, Payton and Ashton, 4 great-grandchildren Kevin, Audrey, Emily and Meila, one sister Madge (Bob) Burke, Avon Park, FL, his girlfriend of 20 years Sandy Vickodil, Monaca, many nieces, nephews and their families.
There will be viewing. A memorial service will held Monday afternoon January 9, 2017 at the Marion Hill C & MA Church, 4607 Rochester Rd., New Brighton at 1:00pm with the Rev. Donald W. MacNeil officiating.
In lieu of flowers the wish memorials be made in his name to the Marion Hill C & MA Church.
