Robert L. Greer

Robert L. Greer, 71, of Ellwood City , passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital , Pittsburgh , from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Beaver Falls .

Born August 17, 1939 in Ellwood City , a son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Sager) Greer. Bob was a retired truck driver and peacetime veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church , Ellwood City and the Hartley Owners Group, Beaver Falls Chapter.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Noreen (Papst) Greer; two sons, Robert A. and his wife Rainie Greer, North Sewickley Twp., Bryan Greer and his companion, Kathy Toy, Patterson Twp.; one stepson, Kenneth (Jill) Platt, Boardman, OH; two stepdaughters, Judith (Jeffrey) Shaffer, New Castle, Nancijo (David) Pruce, Cranberry Twp.; seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia (Thomas) Perrott, Rock Hill, SC; one step sister, Marilyn Barnhart and several nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jennie (Mitchell) Zona Greer; a stepbrother, Frank W. Zona and his aunt, Hazel Sager.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with his pastor, Rev. Andrew Pepe, officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery , New Brighton .
