Roberta M. (Gehm) Lavelle

Roberta M. “Bobbi” Lavelle, 84, formerly of Inishbofin, Ireland, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Carcaise and son-in-law, John Carcaise, surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 10, 1939, in Pittsburgh she was a daughter of the late David and Loretta (Lewis) Gehm.  She retired as a draftsman in the steel industry at 52 years old.  She spent summers with family in Inishbofin, Ireland, prior to meeting the love of her life Michael Lavelle and ultimately moving there.  The two spent over 30 years raising sheep and fishing.  She was very involved in helping her community with items that were difficult to get on their remote island.  She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends.

Surviving is her daughters, Robin Walsh, Barbara Carcaise, Beth Gault, brother, Charles Gehm, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Michael, Logan, Danicka, Mara, Owen, Tiffany, Cole, Sawyer, Nicole, Sunny, Auggie, Sara, Tru, Michelle, Alivia, Roman, Mia, Darcie, Breanna, Johnny, Robbie and Stephanie, as well as many cousins and friends, including her Inishbofin friends and family, Mary, Zondra, and Kathleen, and a very special niece, Zoe, and a good friend, Carolyn

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lavelle, sons, Robert, Brian, and Barry Richardson, and grandson, Adam Richardson.

A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
