Ronald Lee Ashurst Sr.

Ronald Lee Ashurst Sr., 76, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 in his home.

Born August 11, 1935, in Johnstown, PA, a son of the late Robert Sr. and Florence (Oldham) Ashurst.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U. S. Army and then retired from the former St. Joe Lead Co. where he worked in the center plant. Ron enjoyed coffee with the guys at Ree's Family Restaurant in New Brighton.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Eileen (Beitsch) Ashurst; three sons, Robert (Kelly) Ashurst, Virginia Beach, VA; Ronald (Ailene) Ashurst Jr., New Sewickley Twp.; Korry Ashurst, Hickory, NC; five daughters, Tracy (Ken) Del  Vecchio, Seneca, FL; Joy Ashurst, Johnstown; Wendy Wolfe, New Brighton; Marlynn George, Lakeland, FL; Terri (David) Baker, New Brighton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Ashurst Jr., Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL; one sister, Corky (John) Lavely, Johnstown; several nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his favorite uncle, Mel Oldham; grandmother, Myrtle Ivey, and aunt, Renie Oldham, who both raised him.

As per his wishes, there will be no services.
