Ronald O. Bolland, 72, of New Brighton, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born January 12, 1940 in Sewickley, a son of the late Wayne E. and Dorothy (Greene) Bolland, he was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving 1958 to 1962. Ron had worked for Tuscarora Plastics, B&W Ambridge and retired from    W.T. I. in East Liverpool, OH where he was the storeroom manager. He was a member of the New Brighton Methodist Church and was the president of the Methodist Men. He was a former member of the New Brighton Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years and was a current member of the Fire Police. He was also a member of the Union Lodge #259, F & AM, New Brighton and a former member of the DeMolays, Midland Chapter. Ron was a fanatic fisherman and member of the Marion Hill Sportsman Club.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Norma Jean (Hawthorne) Bolland; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen and Scott Shearer, Industry; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lisa Bolland, New Brighton; three grandchildren, Ryan (Cassie) Bolland, Haley Bolland and Kyle Bolland; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Deborah Bolland, Woodstock, VA; two nephews, Kurt (Shandra) Bolland, their children, Devin and Paige and John (Nicky) Bolland and many friends.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tracy Cox, officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the cemetery to provide military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Ronald's name be made to the New Brighton VFD, P.O. Box 27, New Brighton, PA 15066
