Ronald P. McCloskey
Ronald P. McCloskey, 75, of New Brighton, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born March 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Loretta (Rethage) McCloskey. Ronald was retired from the BASF Corp. and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the New Brighton Eagles where he was past worthy President, Monaca American Legion, Beaver Falls Elks, and the New Brighton Croatian Club. Ronald was a member of the Holy Family Parish, New Brighton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Thompson; one brother, Joseph, and one sister, Laverne Boehm.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Murphy) McCloskey; three children and their spouses, Peggy Lynn and Mark Cardosi, New Brighton; Eileen and Dan Madgar, New Brighton; Ronald and Marianne McCloskey, Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, Dominic and Nathan Cardosi, Joshua and Connor Madgar, Michael and Jeffrey Tallon, Annamarie and Preston Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Abby Tallon; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton. Prayers will be held Tuesday in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. Church with Rev. Father Tom Kredel, officiating.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum on Tuesday at 11 a.m. to conduct full military honors.
